Cavalier Connection is an opportunity to build connections with other students prior to the Fall semester and to become familiar with Western’s support services that aid in your success. The Dates for Fall 2022 will be posted here when they are available.

Students who attend the Summer Bridge Program will:
- Become familiar with the Western Technical College campus and campus resources that will aid in their success
- Identify academic and relationship building skills needed for a successful transition to college
- Explore how one’s social identities (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender) intersect with one’s identity as a college student and as a contributing member of the Western and La Crosse community
- Connect with campus staff members to feel more comfortable reaching out with questions
- Connect with other Western students entering their first year at Western prior to the school year starting
Goals of attending Summer Bridge Program:
- Identify goals for being a college student and soon-to-be professional
- Set personal expectations for academic success and strategies to achieve goals
- Identify campus resources that will help you achieve goals
- Explore leadership styles and how it relates to one’s academic and professional goals
- Build community prior to starting at Western
