Membership
Membership is open to students, staff, alumni, retirees, and community members and provides access to strength training and cardio equipment, personal training, and health coaching. The gymnasium is used for pick-up games of basketball and volleyball. You can reserve a time to use the gym at the front desk.

Methods of Payment
Cash, check, credit/debit card, and gift certificates are accepted. Western employees can use payroll deduction for annual memberships.
Membership Application
Becoming a member is fast and simple. All you have to do is complete a membership application form, sign a liability waiver, and pay the membership fee at the time of joining. Members must be at least 18 years old to be permitted to use the facility. Stop by the front desk to get started.
Membership Rules and Regulations
The Member hereby agrees to abide by the rules and regulations which are now in effect and as they may be changed from time to time. The Wellness Center reserves the right to add and/or amend the rules and regulations that govern membership for the benefit of the members. The Member agrees hereto, that the Wellness Center has the right to cancel and/or revoke any membership without refund if the Member is in violation of any of these rules.
Facility Access: To keep our facility healthy and growing, membership dues need to be paid on time.It is a Wellness Center policy to submit your college identification or membership card upon entering the facility. If your membership is current, you will then be able to enter and enjoy the full services of the facility.
Hours: The hours and days of operations may vary per time of year at the sole discretion of the Wellness Center.
Sign In: Members must check-in and show proper identification when entering the facility. You may not be allowed to enter the facility without a membership card. A $1 fee will be assessed without appropriate identification.
Guests: All guests must complete a release waiver, pay the guest fee as applicable, check-in, and be under the supervision of a staff member.
Clothing: Proper clean clothing and footwear as directed by the facility is required in all areas of the facility. Shirts and shoes are required. No open toe shoes allowed.
Use of Equipment: Proper use of all weights and exercise equipment is required at all times. No stacking of extra weights on the machines, with the exception of specific weight add-on’s provided by the Wellness Center; no banging of weights on the machines. Basketball, volleyball, and weight belts are available for check-out with ID.
Maintenance of Facilities: In order to insure that the facilities are properly maintained, the Wellness Center reserves the right to close temporarily for repairs and maintenance. Should the facility be unavailable for members use due to damage by fire, catastrophe or accident, the membership shall be extended for a period equal to the time of such unavailability.
Food and Drink: Allowed only in designated areas. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages of any kind. No member or guest is permitted to enter the facility under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
Lockers: Unless rented monthly or yearly, lockers are used on a day to day basis. Locks must be provided by the members. All members renting lockers are asked to use lockers on the bottom row. Any locks left on the lockers beyond rental period or daily use will be removed appropriately. The Wellness Center is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Do not ask to leave your valuables with an employee or at the front service desk while using the facility.
Towels: Available at the front desk. They are free for members.
Programs and Reviews: All new members may make an appointment for equipment orientation sessions. Appointments may be made at the front service desk.
Other Charges: Unless otherwise provided in the agreement, there shall be an additional charge for educational and health related programs.
General Rules: No smoking is permitted anywhere in the facility. If phone use is necessary, all out-going calls must be placed on the designated phones at the front desk. No long distance calls are allowed. No abusive language, swearing, vulgar mannerisms or unruly conduct. Members are not allowed to play personal music on facility stereo. Personal headphones are allowed. No harassment of members or employees. No loitering or overnight stays permitted. Members shall be subject to the control and guidance of the facilities’ staff and must follow the instructions of the staff while in the facility. No children under the age of 16 years will be allowed access to the facility. All other minors must be under the supervision of a parent or guardian. It is required that the parent or guardian fill out a Minor Release Form and Membership form for the minor prior to a minor’s access to the facility. Members agree to conduct themselves in a quiet and well mannered fashion when in or about the facility so as not to cause disturbances which would interfere with the use of and enjoyment of the facility by other members and guests, and under no circumstances shall a member move exercise equipment about or use equipment in any manner not authorized by the Wellness Center management. Any complaints other than those of an emergency nature or requiring immediate action by facility personnel shall be made directly to the Manager or the Assistant Manager on duty.
Report any misconduct, vandalism or theft to the management immediately. Membership Obligation: Violation of any of the Rules and Regulations whether herein or elsewhere in the facility may result in termination of the membership and/or loss of privileges without refund and will cause any balance to become due and payable immediately.
Cancelation: In the event you become permanently disabled or move to a new residence more than 75 miles from the Wellness Center, we will cancel your membership upon 30 days written notice, and refund the unused portion of your membership. Should you become temporarily disabled for more than 30 days, we will extend your membership for the period of your disability.
Program Changes: The management of the Wellness Center reserves the right to change, without notice, any membership and program fees.
