Workforce Training and Certifications

Western Technical College recognizes learning acquired in a professional environment and/or national certifications that have been developed to meet industry/professional standards may qualify for college credit. If you have completed any of the following, you may be eligible:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Courses taken at the workplace
  • Corporate training
  • Government agency training
  • Professional association or union experience
  • Professional licenses and certifications

The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training or the ACE CREDIT search tool can show you whether your workplace training or certification has been evaluated for credit by the American Council on Education (ACE). If it not listed on the ACE website, contact the Adult Learning Specialist to determine if college-level competencies have been achieved through your training/credentials.
