LA CROSSE, Wis., August 22, 2024 – Western Technical College announced Thursday the selection of Dr. Zak Pearson as the college’s dean of the Business Division.

Pearson brings a mix of higher education and business experience to the position. He has over 10 years of experience in industry, including stops at Boeing, Target, and the Government of Quebec. Zak has most recently worked for various educational institutions in China for the last nine years, teaching in both K12 and higher education in Business Studies, Accounting, Marketing, and Economics.

“Zak brings a diverse mix of education, industry, and teaching experience to Western,” said Western Vice President of Learning Rebecca Hopkins. “Those experiences will help us move our student success initiatives in new and exciting ways. We look forward to having him join our team at Western.”

Dr. Pearson completed his bachelor’s degree in International Business with a minor in Management. He also completed his Masters in Business Administration in Marketing, as well as a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration. He also holds a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard University. Pearson starts at Western Sept. 12.
