LA CROSSE, Wis., January 4, 2024 – Western Technical College announced today the hiring of Brent Brigson as the next head coach of the Western Cavaliers volleyball team.

Brigson brings several years of volleyball coaching experience. His most recent head coaching position was with Bangor High School from 2019-2022. He also led a national team through Elevate Volleyball Club from 2020-2022, as well as several years as a coach in the U14 system. Brigson takes over a volleyball program that went 4-12 in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) and 6-15 overall during the 2023 season.

“I am very honored to take on this role,” said Brigson. “I enjoy working with student-athletes, and I can’t wait for the season to get started. It will be a lot of fun.”

Brigson has been employed by Western Technical College since 1998. He has been a counselor in the Counseling and Case Management department since 2000. He is married to his wife, Dana and has three daughters. He enjoys running and has trained for several half marathons.

“We are really excited to have Brent take over as our next head volleyball coach,” said Ryan Monroe, athletic manager at Western. “Brent is very passionate about volleyball and Western, which will help recruit, develop, and build a successful team.”
