Managing finances while you’re in college can be confusing, but there are several resources available to help you take control of your financial situation and develop a plan for funding college and balancing college and work.
Western’s money management program, called Money E¢ential$, partners with Consumer Credit Counseling Services to offer FREE personal financial wellness check-ups. You can meet with a budget counselor by appointment. Consumer Credit Counseling Services is located at 505 King Street, Suite 212, La Crosse. Appointments are available on campus in the Welcome Center by request. To schedule an appointment call 608-784-8380.

Student Loan Repayment Check-up
Are you currently in repayment or entering repayment soon? Set up an appointment to meet with a financial aid advisor to evaluate the different loan repayment options available to you. Appointments are available for students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at 608-785-9579 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
Login to NSLDS to view all of your federal student loan information, including total loan amounts, and loan servicer information. It is possible that when you begin repaying your student loans, you will need to make payments to more than one agency. NOTE: NSLDS does not provide private loan information, only federal loan information.
You can complete the "Before You Go" worksheet that will provide you with a convenient location to record the information you gather from NSLDS.
