Mentor Connect

This peer-to-peer mentoring program connects Western student mentors (30+ credits) with students who are just starting their journey at the college or with a program. Research shows that mentorship is an effective tool to increase graduation rates, create sense of belonging, and support academic achievement. Each term, current students receive an email invitation to participate in the program and complete an intake form that helps us match students based on their preferences (identity, life experiences, academic program, etc.). This is a great way to get connected, build leadership skills, and become familiar with Western and its resources! Click here to sign up as a mentor (30+ credits) or mentee!

Multicultural Club

This group is student-led and designed to promote cultural awareness, create community among peers, empower student success, and celebrate diversity through learning and education.

Women's Initiative Network (WIN)

This empowerment series connects female-identifying students with one another to build community and peer support while gaining leadership skills. Gatherings are informal and casual learning opportunities. Our motto is make it to what you can! This space should allow you to connect, grow, and network with other women with shared experiences. Event experiences include leaning into your strengths, exploring your identities, and professional development opportunities. Some events are child-friendly, feel free to bring children, if so!

Make Change Film Series

Watch a film or documentary to bring light to issues and problems experienced by numerous communities and across shared identities, a community-based discussion allowing one to become better informed while concurrently bringing in their perspectives, lived-experiences, and challenging what one knows.

Cavalier Connection

Cavalier Connection is an opportunity to build connections with other students prior to the Fall semester and to become familiar with Western’s support services that aid in your success.
