Personal Training

Personal training helps establish personalized programs that are practical, efficient, safe, and successful by providing information to clients on nutrition and fitness education, proper posture and exercise technique, cardiovascular and strength training, body composition, and flexibility development. In addition, personal training is available to accommodate individuals with chronic health problems, or those seeking more rigorous physical training, such as athletes, body builders, and high level exercisers.

Every calendar year, Wellness Center members are entitled to one free personal training consultation. A consultation is a 30-minute meeting with a personal trainer where a client can discuss their fitness goals and expectations. Based on this along with a client's health and fitness history, the personal trainer can make recommendations on future exercise program options.

5-Session Package

Each personal training session is a 30-minute training session where the personal trainer works one-on-one with the client, usually on a regular basis (i.e. weekly, bi-weekly). Each workout is created by a personal trainer based on a client's goals, health history, and fitness level. The workout is performed with the supervision of a personal trainer to ensure safety and efficiency of workout.

Customized Program

The customized program is created by the personal trainer based on a client's goals, health history, and fitness level. Once the personal trainer has shown the client the program, the client will be given the program and be expected to perform the program on his/her own without supervision of the personal trainer. Clients are encouraged to change their program every 6-8 weeks in order to experience continued fitness improvements.

Fitness Assessment

A fitness assessment is a great way for you to determine your current level of fitness. Knowing these measurements can be an invaluable tool when developing a fitness plan or when looking at the impact your fitness level has on your quality of life now and into the future. The assessments consist of tests that measure resting heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, body composition, measurements, and aerobic capacity.

Body Composition Test and Measurements

Our trainers can perform a body fat composition test with skin calipers. This method involves measuring the skinfold thickness of the layer of fat just under the skin in several parts of the body with the calipers. The results are then calculated and the percentage of body fat is determined. Body girth measurements will also be performed which includes waist, hip, chest, arm, and thigh circumference.
