Western welcomes and encourages students to visit any of our campuses prior to enrolling. Visits give you the opportunity to really see the campus and get a feel for college life and ask the questions that matter to you.
Program Shadow
At Western Technical College we want to make sure you have chosen the perfect program for you, so at Western you can "shadow" the program that interests you. So, what does that mean? A program shadow allows you to spend time in a class or lab related to your program of interest. You will have the opportunity to visit with Western students and faculty members and find out what it's really like to be a student at Western. If you are interested in setting up a program shadow, complete the online form below or contact Dave Fish at 608.785.9442.
Program shadows are available during the academic year from September 1 through April 30. Requests for April shadows must be made by April 15th.
Campus Tours
Once you have narrowed down your choices for attending college, a campus tour can be an important next step. At Western we welcome tours for individuals and groups. Individual tours last about 30 minutes and cover the following areas: Welcome Center, Student Development, Campus Shop, TC Cafe, Library, Wellness Center, Academic Success Center, classrooms and labs, Math Lab, and Academic Computer Labs.
Some of our programs are located at sites other than at our main campus location. Because of this the La Crosse Campus tour does not include the following program areas: Automotive Technician, Diesel and Heavy Equipment, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Radiography, Clinical Laboratory Technician, Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistant, or Disability Support Specialist. Please let us know if you are interested in a tour related to one these program areas and we will do our best to accommodate you, but may not be able to do so within the schedule below.
Group tours with eight or more individuals are scheduled separately at various times.
Tours are available Monday Friday from 9:00a.m. 3:00 p.m. by appointment. Please call or email at least one week in advance to schedule your tour.
Campus tours are conducted by Western Students. Please schedule your tour at least one week in advance.
